The Akashic Records

The Akashic Records are described as a field of energy that houses the individual records of a soul, from the time it is born up until the time it dies. Every single action, thought, word or emotion ever to have occurred in the past, present, or future in terms of all entities and life forms, not just human, is recorded and stored in this energy field. It can be thought of as a library and it’s objective is to record all life experience. This is also where soul contracts are stored. The contracts one has made with themselves and other souls.

It is possible to access the Akashic Records through meditative practice, conscious connected breathing, hypnosis and channeling. Doing so can assist in a deeper understanding of our soul’s intent and mission. We may be able to better understand why we incarnated into this very lifetime, with these very experiences, because we are able to see all that came before us as well as what is potentially awaiting us in the future. We can look at why we have certain patterns of behaviors, why we choose the relationships we do, why we have the challenges we face, and what lessons we should be learning.

"The Sanskrit term akasha [meaning “aether” or “atmosphere”] was introduced to the language of theosophy through H. P. Blavatsky (1831–1891), who characterized it as a sort of life force; she also referred to "indestructible tablets of the astral light" recording both the past and future of human thought and action, but she did not use the term "akashic".[5] The notion of an akashic record was further disseminated by Alfred Percy Sinnett in his book Esoteric Buddhism (1883) when he cites Henry Steel Olcott's A Buddhist Catechism (1881).[6] Olcott wrote that "Buddha taught two things are eternal, viz, 'Akasa' and 'Nirvana': everything has come out of Akasa in obedience to a law of motion inherent in it, and, passes away. No thing ever comes out of nothing." Olcott further explains that "Early Buddhism, then, clearly held to a permanency of records in the Akasa and the potential capacity of man to read the same, when he was evoluted to the stage of true individual enlightenment."[7] (Taken from Wikipedia).

Edgar Cayce (1877–1945), a famous American psychic and medium that claimed to channel from his higher self, would refer to the Akashic Records to the Book of Life and write about it extensively in his written works.
